Who Are Small Shipyards?

Small Shipyards are the 300+ marine vessel construction and repair yards on the coastal and inland waterways of the U.S.

These yards are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the more than 40,000 military, safety and commercial vessels in the American flag fleet.

Their employees are comprised of skilled welders, shipfitters, electricians, and a number of other highly-skilled tradesmen.
